Peugeot app not syncing with car

Afternoon :)

I've had my 308 for a few weeks now, and cannot get the 'My Peugeot' app to sync properly with the car.

Could anyone confirm if my 308 2014 is compatible? As in it should sync the total miles, trip history, fuel level etc?
According to the Peugeot website the app is compatible with any 308 with Bluetooth.

I have tried reinstalling the app and reconnecting my iPhone 7 to the car, but nothing seems to work.

The 'driving' tab in the app just doesn't appear at all.

Any ideas? Or is it just not compatible?

Hmm, it's a strange one then and I can't seem to find anyone else having the same problem.

The driving tab just doesn't seem to show up no matter what I do or how many times I reconnect it all.

Could it be related to the firmware my SMEG unit is running perhaps? I know it's rather out of date. So I'm now wondering if updating that would fix it.

Might have to do that then :(

I did try emailing them about it but they just said they recommend taking to a Peugeot dealer, but they'll probably charge me just for getting them to help won't they?

Also, couldn't see it in your screenshot, but does it say your cars current fuel level also?

Thanks for your help though :)

On Friday my app stopped showing the history of my journeys, lost all the car details and wanted to be set up again from scratch

I was a little annoyed as I like the history records

This evening the app decided to work again, loading all the journeys I had made since Friday and remembering my car details. The only strange thing was it had forgotten the last fuel price entered??

Seems a little odd, but pleased it is working again.

Curiously, mine did exactly the same about the same day. The My Peugeot app showed no cars recorded (I have two on the app) and I could not access any data. After about one day it recovered and I still have all the historic data. I presume that the connection to the database went down.

Initially I was concerned about losing all the data but it seems all ok.

I've searched around before but I don't think the old Peugeot app is available for iOS, so my only option is the newer app :(

My car is going into a Peugeot garage later this week so I may ask them if they have any ideas, though I won't hold my breath.

Bit of an update regarding this.

A while back while I had my car in a Peugeot dealer getting the rear axle sorted, I asked the staff there but they couldn't even figure out why it wouldn't 'sync', so they said to contact Peugeot UK directly.

Well, I actually emailed them the other day and got this response this morning:

Text Font Line Document

So apparently nothing's "wrong", it just simply isn't compatible.
Bit of a shame but I guess it's better than something just being faulty.
You'd think they'd make it clearer that it's 2015 and later models, rather than just saying it'll work as long as the car has bluetooth, which is what it says in the Peugeot FAQ regarding it.

The "most" reliable method I've found to get it to connect is to start the app and have it active before starting the car.

Ignore all warnings or questions that appear on the phone. Don't answer them.

Bluetooth only.

Dear Mr. Haigh,
Thank you for contacting Peugeot Customer Care.
We are sorry that our MyPeugeot app is not working as expected.
Firstly, please check that your vehicle is in private mode, preventing data transfer. Instructions on how to disable private mode can be found at the following link:
How to enable and disable data sharing and geolocation? (my-customerportal.com)
Now please check the steps from the following FAQ article to optimize connectivity and eliminate potential sources of error:
How can I retrieve journeys made and vehicle information in the MyPeugeot application? (my-customerportal.com)
If you require further assistance after the review, we will be happy to initiate a detailed investigation for you through our specialist department. Please provide us with the following information:
They sent the same reply to me, but my car doesn't have this "privacy mode" feature. It's possibly only on UK/Euro models with sos/peugeot buttons and 3g/4g cards.

What fixed mine (which stopped working in late September) was a new version of the MyPeugeot app for iPhone, which is 1.42.0 - it's now working again, albeit with a gap in journeys for the nearly whole month it took them to fix it.

The previously current version (1.41.1) broke it, which came out at the same time as the latest iPhone software.
