Discussion Starter #1 (Edited)
Hello one and all, I have had a quick look through the forums but can't seem to find my specific question, so be kind if this has in fact already been asked and answered.

I own a 2005 2.0L 16v Six speed diesel LHD 407. I would like to start swapping over to LED lighting, because they last longer and .... well because I want to!

In line with that, I bought two 12v CANBUS compliant white LEDs for my reverse lights. Now whilst they light nice and bright when car is in reverse, they strobe when car is NOT in reverse and ignition is on.

If they only strobed for a few seconds after ignition was switched on, I'd put it down to CANBUS initial self-test; but they continue to strobe continuously even after the self-test on the dashboard has completed.

I suspect that this may be because the CANBUS actually tests the system continually, not just at start-up, so LED's will strobe.....

... however, I don't know - has anyone had similar issues? or can point me to another possibility that will allow me to use LED's in the tail lights and headlights? (I have Xenon low beams but would love to swap to a LED H1 high beam and sidelights)

Looking forward to any responses

I would say youve just got a dodgy set... ive had very mixed luck with LED in any car... sometimes better to buy from a couple of sellers :)

probably easier to admit defeat and leave the original bulbs in and add led's externally under the bumper/in the bumper etc....
or put led's in the holder and add 'slave' bulb(in parallel ,not wired in series) inside the boot area so the canbus doesn't keep flashing the bulbs whilst checking they've not blown - hence flashing lamps?
