Hi all. I've recently brought a Peugeot 308 SW 2009 1.6HDI ( 78k miles ) and when the engine is under heavy load in 4th gear, 4000 rpm say overtaking a car on the motorway it seems to lose power at that point and then displays an error depolution fault and goes into limp mode. When reading the error code stored with a ODB reader is says Turbocharger/Supercharger overboost condition. Once the code is reset, when driving around town it drives normal and gives no errors!

I also have soot around my turbo and manifold :(

Any ideas on where to start with this? Please help :)

Hi, thanks for the replies. After striping all the turbo pipes and manifold heat shields the turbo boost pipe was melted and the turbo clamp was loose! Hence the soot all over the engine and lack of power. The error codes were p0299 and p1351. The clamp was the one on the left hand side of the turbo.

We suspect this has been broken for some time as soot was everywhere all over the engine etc.
