Dear all,
I have a problem with my Peugeot 308 (2011)
last weekend I was driving, and suddenly the motortemp indicator jumped to the end of its scale and the message "motor temperature too high" appeared. The engine stopped immediately and could not be started any more.
The roadservice arrived and they found out that fuse F5 in the engine room had blown. F5 supplies the fuel pump and a few other devices that I am not aware of. The roadservice made a temporary bypass from battery to fuel pump, and with this the car ran perfectly again so I could drive home without any problems (200 km) The message about engine overtemperature remained, indicator remained at end of scale.

The car is now in the garage, and there is not much progress yet. They plan to replace the fuel pump but I have severe doubts if this is really the cause; with the bypass cable the pump runs perfectly! I think that F5 blows due to a shortcircuit somewhere, which also affects the engine temperature reading. Does anybody has an idea or similar experience ?

My Haynes manual helpfully says Fuse 5 is for Engine Management.

But there will be variations according to exact model and engine.
