Hi Guys I have a 2001 Peugeot 307 1.6L Petrol. Recently i removed the entire air filter compartment and installed a aftermarket cone air filter.This was about a month ago.

It was fine until last week. Now there is a horrible lag until ~2000 RPM. It just wont pull. After 2000RPM it goes like a mad dog. I have to rev it to 2000RPM and release the clutch accordingly. Its frustrating at traffic lights. Engine wont stop just that i feel there is no petrol fed into the engine until ~1800RPM-2000RPM

Any thoughts?

We could guess all day, but you really need to bite the bullet and get a diagnostic done from a fellow forummer.

Mine would be something loose on your aftermarket one letting too much air in.

Or the engine ECU "map" (for want of a better word, I know its not quite right but I can't think of the correct term) has changed because of the different airflow of your new filter.
