Peugeot 307 engine light came on. should i be worried?

I've a 307 and driving back from work today no problem untill i got to my road, the engine light came on then the car just turned itself of. I started it again and it seems fine. Has anyone else had this problem?

It takes a handful of drives for the EML light to go off so if it was a spike in some sensor level it might go on its own. Whatever the case get the codes read and rule out anything minor before it turns major
