I'm trying to pre order some touch up paint for my Sunset Copper 3008 in readiness for next week. I like to have this in the car so I can quickly deal with any stone chips.

Peugeot parts can't find a paint code on their system against my VIN. They suggested that touch up paint this colour may not be available yet in particular for this new colour. They are having to raise a query next week by email I assume to France.

Please could someone who has a 3008 in sunset copper, let me know the paint code which I think may be printed on the label on the door pillar.

Has anyone else managed to get an official 3008 touch up paint regardless of colour? I've tried Chipex but there aren't any paints listed for the new 3008.

Do you not find that the touch up paint is a bit of a hit and miss affair , i usually get the pro's who specialise in that to do it once a year , better job

I've had am Ultimate Red touch up stick on order since March, and the dealer has told me that because it hasn't turned up, it is obviously not available yet. The 208 has been available in this colour for ages, but the dealer says it has a slightly different paint code, and may be a different Ultimate Red. I think that is highly unlikely.
The bottom line is they think the cars are too new for Peugeot to have produced these touch up sticks, which I think is ridiculous, and something that should have been available from day one.

I've always been very successful with using the nail varnish style touch up paint. I usually don't use the brush, but use a toothpick, because of the fine point. I have a Renault Clio in flame red, which doesn't have any touch up paint available. I bought a Chipex kit for that and again touch up tiny chips in the same way.

I've never used the lacquer overlay and generally the chips I've touched in have been pretty invisible.

Searching on the internet, I downloaded a French 3008 brochure and I found the following. This may prove of use to others, albeit the French description, but I think the paint codes will match:

Solid:

Gris Hurricane P09G
Blanc Banquise P0WP

Metallic:

Gris Artense M0F4
Gris Platinium M0VL
Gris Amazonite M0KL
Noir Perla Nera M09V
Bleu Magnetic M0EG
Beige Pyrite M0LL
Metallic Copper M0LG

Special Paint:

Rouge Ultimate M5F3
Blanc Nacre M6N9

If someone with sunset copper car could confirm for me, that the code M0LG does appear on their car label, that would be very helpful.

Our 308 was sold to us as Rioja Red but the data base doesn't list it as such.....apparently it 'became'(?) Ruby Red somehow.

Chipex will probably have them all within a couple of months, which makes Peugeot look bad if they can't even supply colours for their own cars.

Thanks I'll check that out.

Interestingly, the door plate shows ELGD ** which I think may also be the paint code for Sunset Copper, even though the brochure lists M0LG

Great.....Nimbus Grey, (or Platinum Grey as they call it in Europe), isn't on this list.

There must be a paint aftermarket company doing theses colours surely.
Yeah, it's probably missing because it's a GT exclusive color. It was (is) my favorite, but I'm going with the 'Active' trim, so I'll probably settle for Gris Artense.

I contacted Chipex, who I have bought a similar kit for my Flame Red Renault Clio. They said the correct sunset copper code was ELGD and although not listed on their website, they can indeed supply it. Drop them a message with your door paint code as I'm sure they'll be able to get it. I'm hoping the kit will arrive shortly. I'll test it somewhere not visible to begin with.

The kits they provide normally contain all manner of things required to touch in scratches and chips. A video is available on YouTube on how to do the repair. I simply wanted a stone chip touch up, so although expensive, the paint has a 100% colour match guarantee and a shelf life of 4 years.

As has been the case with my other cars, I've noticed small stone chips already on my car after just a few hundred miles. With the sunset copper colour, they show white, so a cocktail stick and a tiny dab should be sufficient.

I'll keep you posted.

I'd definitely recommend the chipex kits, their product lets you get a much better and almost flawless result if you put the effort in. Will be ordering one in Mag blue as soon as my car surfaces. I'm assuming the 3008 mag blue is the same as the 308 version but not sure yet.

Hmmm, Pearlescent white might mean the don't show up so much, stone chips are an unfortunate fact of life here.
