Hi,
I come in need for ideas.
The sound that comes from the engine is a typical bad bearing sound.
Video:
Car: Peugeot 207 CC 1.6 VTI , 2008, 88kw, 130k km
Therefore I have checked and eliminated:
Alternator
Aux. belt tensioner
AC compressor
Water pump
Water pump tensioner
Lexia shows no faults. The only abnormality I found was in live data "Crankshaft Position - Camshaft Position Incoherence"
I have no knowledge of the car's history apart from that apparently chain was changed in 2019. That could be a fairy tale. I acquired the car with this distinctive noise and it has been mostly sitting for a year.
My next ideas:
Chain tensioner and chain
Oil pump
Other symptoms that might or might not be related:
On cold start - first try ends with the engine dying out
After revving the idle rpm dips below 700 as it would die out but comes back
If anyone has any ideas before I will start dissasembling the engine would be great.
