Hi again

My Son's Peugeot 206 1.1 engine management light has come on again, and this time has stopped on.

We have purchased a code reader and have retrieved the following codes P0201, P0202 & P0420. According to the details in the manual this could be an open circuit on the injectors and a catalytic converter issue.

We have erased them but nothing happens and the codes re-appear within a few seconds.

Anyone have any advice where to start and what to look for?

When you say code reader, I assume you mean the generic variety. That is not the most useful means of fault-finding on a Peugeot. One needs to use Peugeot Planet 2000. That does much more than simply give fault codes (including those private to Peugeot, which the generic reader cannot use), including access to live data whilst the engine is running - a great help in diagnosis.

If faults are permanent they wont clear till the fault is fixed

The missfire is the real fault this will cause the cat fault injectors breaking down is a possible reason its common on the TU engines but it could also be simply bad wiring.

Hi again reliable406

We don't have an actual misfire but the engine light has now illuminated and stayed on. We just thought we buy a reader to see where the problems were, and that's when we discovered the codes. We really just wanted to know where to make a start?
