Hi guys, I'm new to the forums so please go easy on me.

I've got a 15 plate 2008 and it's sustained light front end impact, however, the drivers and passengers airbags have deployed along with the drivers seat belt only. We've repaired the car, replaced the airbags and seat belt and had the ecu reset via specialists.

My query is, upon repair of the car, we could not locate any individual crash sensors. Is the main ecu under the gear stick the only crash sensor? If so, how does the car recognise being in the midst of a crash?

Any help on this would be much appreciated, this is my first Peugeot so you may tell me they haven't had individual crash sensors for years, you may not!

Kind regards,

Mike.

Can't find any front crash sensors either on Servicebox, only side ones. Do you get any DTCs related to front ones?

Maybe the 'front' sensor is built into the airbag ecu, seems an odd way of doing it because I would have thought with the way the car is designed to crumple from the front there would be a delay if it was fitted remote from the front crash bar.
Maybe that's why the airbag's deployed (when they should not have) because the built in one remote from the front has to be more sensitive?

G sensor is built into airbag ecu it detects front/rear impacts, this is supplemented on most models by satellite sensors on cills for side impacts and side/curtain air bag deployment
