I have a small oil leak, hardly any on the ground, does not need topped up between services.

Oil is most noticeable somewhere behind the alternator. See image.

Hard to see anywhere close to turbo, but oil seems to be closer to the alternator.

I do not have a ramp to examine closely.

It is not running down from the rocker cover.

The timing chain housing seems dry.

Photo looks very oily but this is after spraying liberally with engine cleaner.

What are the potential leaks in that area? Are any of these leeks a potential risk for something to fail?

Which are easy or difficult to repair?

Thanks for reading.

Had one similar to this on my Expert......was the camshaft gear oilseal inside the plastic timing cover that was leaking. Not sure if yours is a similar set up though.

Thats looking up from underneath its most likely not an oil leak as such is oil dripping out the intake pipework under the flexible pipes above the alternator oil gets into intake from rocker cover breather or the turbo seals leak a little into intake.

If its not that its the rocker cover.
