Hi Everyone,

I have an 807, 57 plate, 2.0 litre petrol. The diagnostics show the error above :
P0485 - Cooling Fan Power/Ground Circuit Malfunction

I have checked the relays (two of them) and replaced them with ones from Peugeot. When running the fan checks, high speed fan works fine, but low speed doesn't.

I have had a look at the wiring around the relays, but cannot find where the fault could be.

Does anyone have any idea ? Or do you know of an auto electrician in the northwest area who could have a look.

Any help appreciated

Thanks
Jeff

Just as a side note, when the engine heats up and goes over 90, it gets to 100 then the main fan kicks in, but the strange thing is that when the car slows down when its hot and i stop dead; when I start again the auto gear box really kicks into gear, as if someone has bumped from behind.

If i go manual and go through the gears manually it doesn't do this.

I'm pretty sure its to do with the slower fan not kicking in, so the engine is just getting too hot which in turn makes the gearbox run hotter.

Please any help ??

807 cooling fan - slow speed not working - what happened next?

Hi,

Back in July you posted a message about your 807.
"P0485 - Cooling Fan Power/Ground Circuit Malfunction"

You said you changed relays but slow speed fan still not good.

I have same issue on similar vehicle and age.

So what was the problem and how did you fix it?

Be very grateful if you could let me know.

Thanks,

I ended up buying a "Peugeot 807 Radiator Motor Fan Resistor Relay" from Ebay for £9.50, worked a treat and now the cooling fan works perfectly.

Got one and fitted. Problem gone :)

There are in fact 2 of those resistor relays on my car, but the other one is ok.
The bad one was burnt out around the resistor.
I changed the 2 green relays at the same time as a double-check. Cheap so not a prob.

So low and high speed fan speed now both work as checked using PP2000 test...

But car is still not starting :-(
