I have a 307hdi on 51plate.
had problems with it over heating and loosing water.
i replaced the thermostat and flushed it through, filled it with anti freeze etc which stopped it over heating but its still loosing water although not much.
i noticed recently though that the heater was blowing cold and i'm getting a sloshing sound when cornering. as if theres a puddle of water somewhere.
i have checked the heater matrix which is o.k. but now as soon as i start it the temp guage goes straight to red yet the engine does not seem to hot. althought it doesnt sound right. it chugs a bit. havnt started it again.
any ideas please? could it be the water pump?
thanks for looking

The water sloshing could just be a sill filled with water , drive a flat head screwdriver into the joint under the sill ,if its full of water it should empty.
