Hi everyone so I bought a 2006 307cc last week and it's been fine all week then yesterday when I went to go to work I started engine and drove for like 2 minutes when the temperature went right to the top with the stop symbol showing then engine light came on. The engine was stone cold. When i bought this car it had no stereo and the clock console is currently not working. It has done the same thing this morning right away without even moving off the drive so it cant be over heating? Is this a temp sensor or something worse that i should be worried about?

Thanks in advance
Mike

Sound like coolant sensor is faulty quite a common fault and easy fix.

Depends on engine but most are fitted to the thermostat housing on gearbox end of engine normally held in with a clip
