So today I was swapping my front springs, when I noticed a big puddle... The passengers shaft had come out of the diff and lots of gearbox oil had leaked out.

So I pushed the shaft in and cleaned up.

Removed the battery tray to find the I might have to remove the gearbox mount to top the fluid up?!?

Sounds a bit extreme?!?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks
Ben.

The filler plug will depend on the type of gearbox you have. From memory, on mine (BE) it looked like a 15mm bolt on the edge of the box. It was just visible without removing the wheel arch liner and above the shaft, basically, look at the front side of the hub carrier bolts in the suspension strut and it is the big bolt/plug that you will see on the edge of the box nearest you.

Anyway, it is accessible and it is one where you will either rip your hand on the arch liner or end up smashing your fingers on the drive shaft

you can get to breather (just above reverse switch) without removing mount to top up if needed
