So, my Wee pug 207 hdi gt, great little car but unfortunately seems before me was never took care of, replaced all fuses as one fault after another has came up, had full serviced and the filter was black...being the 1.6 this was never good so made sure it was all cleaned out so the turbo doesn’t go on me....now on 97,000 miles I have “fuel cap not closed” fault ...been quoted 300 from Peugeot in Boston lincoln which is an absolute joke..,.cheapest I have found is 160, could this fault be anything else?

Check that the magnets are still in the cap. Check wiring loom is not damaged and plug contacts are clean/not corroded.

take the cap off and LOOK at it for the cap

For the wiring you need to follow it down the wheel arch to a plug
