Hi all, ive just bought myself a 03 plate 307 2.0l diesel. I have found that it is dripping oil, its not a big leak but i need to find out where its coming from before i go on a long drive. I have been keeping an eye on the levels and can say with certainty that the brake resevior hasnt dropped, niether has the engine oil level. The power steering has dropped slightly i think.
The oil is a yellowy colour and very clean and thin.

I will take it to a garage to get it sorted out but my main concern right now is that it may be from the gear box.

Is there anything distictive about gearbox oil that would make it easy to identify ???
Also how do i go about topping the gearbox oil up - is it difficult or time consuming?

thanks

Owen

to top up the gearbox oil. take the front left wheel off. take the mudguard out. you will see a bolt on the side of the gearbox that is slightly bigger then the rest.

undo this. fill with the correct oil until it slowly seeps out of the hole

Ok thanks for that. I have had a closer look and it turns out that its actually a diesel leek from the fuel pressure sensor.
