Hi all, I've got a leak from the oil filter housing where it's mates to the block just above the sump!
It's only when the engines cold, when it warms up there's not a drop?

It's a 1.6 16v 307 auto 2004.

Does any one know if its a metal gasket or rubber seal?

Peugeot have the gasket kit but wondered if any one else does it?

Any help would be much appreciated...

You should get a new seal with the filter - a rubber one usually. I have seen them leak when cross-threaded - the filter should screw on pretty easily - any real resistance means you're probably not totally straight.

Thanks for the reply but the leak is acutely from where the metal housing meets the block at the base of the engine, there are 4 10mm bolts securing it to the block behind the cat?
I'm just wondering if its a rubber seal oppose to a metal compression sort I could get away with some stop leak in the oil?

It has two rubber seals.
