I was replacing the spark plugs on my 307 (1.6 petrol, 04 plate) over a year ago and noticed that one or two were covered in oil - topside of the plug (where the plug meets the ignition coil).

I replaced the plugs with new ones.

A few months later I had to replace the ignition coil and noticed that the new plugs had oil in the same place. However, not as much this time.

Any idea where the oil is coming from and how to stop it?

Thanks for the adivce, but the spark plugs look to be quite deep in the engine and past the rocker cover gasket - so I can't see how this leaking could cause the spark plug wells to fill with oil.

My engine code if TU5 JP4.

The video below shows the rocker cover gaskets being replaced.

Hopefully this helps explain why I'm confused!
