Hi all - i have a 51 plate 307 2.0ltr XSI 138, wanting to buy a code reader as i keep getting a antipollution fault (in the cold), I know that that fault always comes up in the cold and i only have to clear the code (has happened the last 2 years) how do i know if the car is OBD2 or Can Protocol. Also can anyone tell me where the VIN plate is under the bonnet

as far as i am aware, some if not all peugeots dont like the typical obdII readers and will not even give you a code, this was true for me with my peugeot. because from what i beleive it emulates the protocol and isnt that stable/works.

if this is the case, you would have to invest in the dealership (clone) device called peugeot planet/lexia 3. you can pick them up on fleabay for just over £100 from hong kong.

the only way to know for sure is to connect a typical car code reader and see if it works...if it does your very lucky if not its the above.
