Hi guys,

I have a 2001 Pug 206 XR 1.6L 3dr hatch. The car makes a squeaky noise when I turn the steering wheel, especially when I'm moving very slow, eg parking etc.
I took it to a mechanic (not a pug specialist) and he said that the bushes were dry or something like that, so he put some lubricant. But the noise remains.

The steering is also abit stiff compared to other cars i've driven. I'm not too sure how the steering would normally feel because this is my first peugeot.

Detail of the car is here:

The car has modifications. Not sure if that would help.

thanks in advance.

Hi and welcome to the forum :thumb:

There are a number of things this could be have you checked the power steering reservoir power steering pump? Dont take it to full lock, when you do this you will here a noise. Guessing you have larger alloys/tyres? They could be rubbing and thats what you are hearing. The pug steering is no different to any other power steering assisted car
