Hi i have a Peugeot 307 2.0 hdi, had a lot of work done to the vehicle recently notably timing belt, alternator belt and second hand alternator but with these changes the pulley tensioner on the alternator belt has started to bounce when car is stationary and makes a lot of noise as soon as any revs are put to the engine this noise stops. i have tried to loosen some of the pulleys slightly to see if it was one of these getting stuck or slowing the belt making the tensioner to bounce. could it be that the alternator belt is too tight or what else could it be?

Thanks

It could be the crankshaft pulley slipping in the rubber bonding, quite a common fault, try drawing a line with a speed marker from centre to the edge, start the engine and rev it a bit, then stop and see if the line is displaced.
