I have a 2 lt hdi 2003 and the book shows its a turbo
but it drives like a non turboo
there is no gauge to show turbo no badges
so if it is then when does it come in
as example i was on a slop up hill doing 70 KLMs and I put my foot down to get to 100 but it did not take off , just increased its speed like a normal non turbo .... even on a flat it does not put one back in the seat
My old saab 95 2lt was 3 times more a turbo performance than this

Sure it get going through the gears rather fast if one pushes it

so am i looking for too much . the speedo goes to 210

It wont have any badges as all hdi engines have turbos. You don't say which engine 90 or 110 bhp. If 90 you wont feel much in the way of a surge as the boost is quite low 110 you can feel a slight surge.

If the Saab was petrol it's like comparing apples and oranges the diesel will always feel under powered against a petrol

ALL 2 litre HDI engines have a turbo it comes in as you refer to it as soon as the engine starts it is boosting at all times max boost tends to be around 2-2500 rpm so its not going to feel like a petrol engine where boost comes in with a bang higher up the rev range.

Engine code will tell you what version you have choice of 2 90 or 110 hp diagnosis of lack of boost varies with type as control systems are different so need to know what you have.
