Hi,

I'm new here, and also new to Peugeot ownership, although the very first car I remember my parents owning was a 504. Anyway...

I just bought a 2002 Peugeot 807 2.2 HDI, Executive (Probably SE). I've heard a lot of bad things about them, with reliability problems, etc, but there seems to be a lot of love for them on here.

It's LHD, as I live in Estonia, so I'll be driving it back from Derby when I go over to visit my parents in September. However, it has some faults that I really need to sort out before I embark on my trip through seven countries.

Basically, I'm going to list the faults here. If you know of any articles which cover them, maybe you can share a link. I've had a bit of a search around, but I can't find answers to these specific issues.

1. Losing power when driving up a decent gradient at 70mph in 5th gear on a motorway. This is my biggest concern.

2. Passenger side electric sliding door unlatches, but then doesn't open automatically, although the motor can be heard running.

3. Driver's side sliding door doesn't even unlatch with the button, although again, the motor is running. It only works with the handle.

4. The rear driver's side electric window won't wind down.

Are there any other common problems I need to check? Is it chain or belt driven?

If you think it would be better for me to make individual threads for these questions, let me know and I'll delete this post. I don't want to be a nuisance around here!

Any dash lights with the power loss? Think I would give the dpf a flush, posted here on this a while back. While you are underneath undo the dpf tank and see how full it is, worth topping up if low as if you let in run dry it has to be reset on diagnostics.
Sounds like the cables to open/close the sliding doors are absent, check by feeling in the waist guide rails.
Change the cambelt if not done in the last 60-70K miles or is 5 years old, change the water pump as well.
They are not that bad, our 2.2 has 225K with only a new HP pump and a couple of sensors (mainly swirl flap activator) required for the engine besides routine servicing. Change the oil every 10K max, has to be C2 (low SAPS) grade.
