Sadly it doesn't but it is available as a cost addition to the tom tom services.I am planning to buy a new 3008 (Allure) later this year. Does it include a Speed Camera database (UK) & if so what is it like.
John
How do you get speed camera alerts through CarPlay pinkaardvark, does it include all speed traps or just fixed cameras. I have an Aguri speedway in my current car but it doesn't look great sitting up on the dashSadly it doesn't but it is available as a cost addition to the tom tom services.
The car does support carplay and android auto so you could use either of these to alert you through the audio of the car. Tom Tom even do a free android app.
Not sure if there is and AA or CarPlay integration. I assume the free tom tom one will play it's audi through bluetooth if it is paired to the car as an audio device. How do you get speed camera alerts through CarPlay pinkaardvark, does it include all speed traps or just fixed cameras. Anything that supports car play will work. All App Store apps are apple approved. Not all app store apps support carplay(most don't)I don't think Waz will work with Carplay and be displayed on the car's infotainment screen though. Only Apple approved apps will work in this way.
That's what I was getting at, of course all apps on the app store are Apple approved but only a very limited number work on Carplay.Anything that supports car play will work. All App Store apps are apple approved. Not all app store apps support carplay(most don't)
Its so easy specially in the 3008 for the speed to creep up without you realising this happens at the wrong time flash flash your done least the beep beep of the speed cam warning makes you check your speed at that point. The alternative is to use the speed limit output on the dashboard and not drive any faster than that. I think that is known as the law. Then you can stop worrying about speed cameras.
Thanks for that. Had a look at TomTom Live services web site and it does have a camera database as an add on. Pity it is TomTom - I experienced their safety cameras back in 2009/10. Not unusual to pass a fixed camera without getting a warning even on ones that had been there for years. No it doesn't, although you can buy a hazard/danger zone subscription as an add on to the Tom Tom Live Services. It doesn't specifically say it includes speed cameras, but I imagine it must do.
Helpful. The alternative is to use the speed limit output on the dashboard and not drive any faster than that. I think that is known as the law. Then you can stop worrying about speed cameras.
Yeah, since being caught twice I use speed limiter. But its still good to know where the cameras are especially the ones sited at the bottom of a long downhill stretch! The alternative is to use the speed limit output on the dashboard and not drive any faster than that. Glad you think so. It's alarmingly easy for certain people to forget how to drive and indeed how to follow basic driving legislation.Helpful.
