My partner and I are debating what car to get her.

She is saying that according to the Ncap safety star ratings that a 206 is as safe as a 607.

Both four star

My argument is that the 607 being the bigger car is far safer in a smash but she keeps pointing at the star rating saying she is right.

Any thoughts???

All I can say to this is that a woman always feels safe with something big!!!!

I drive my 407 - my wonderful big baby - and I feel safe.

Women should have big things - there you go - Give her the best!!!!

As far as NCAP testing goes, your missus is correct. If either car is subjected to the type of collision duplicated in the NCAP test then one will not perform appreciably different to the other.

Bear in mind that mass works both ways - it might potentially give more scope for energy absorbtion (although design is more critical than mass in this regard), but then the extra mass will increase stopping distances and give more inertial forces on corners, potentially making it less forgiving to the cackhanded among us.
