Hi all I've got a 06 plate 1.6 307cc and need a new a/c condenser. I've had quotes from £300 -£850 which is ridiculous. Of course Peugeot won't tell me the part number but looking about I can get the part for £60-90. Does any one know of a reliable garage or mobile mechanic who can do this job. I've read that it can be done without taking bumper off- is this correct. I'm in East Sussex- please help

Hi

Ok so I know now- it's an 06 307 cc 65k in Diablo red. I took it to kiwi fit for an a/c regas - they said the machine said there was a leak but they couldn't find one. They arranged for a air con specialist to come and diagnosed and he diagnosed a hole in compressor. I'm in Hastings East Sussex if anyone knows of a good person/ garage to use. What sort of price is reasonable.
Thanks

If its a leak on the condenser, the radiator in the engine bay where the refrigerant returns to liquid by air cooling if you do a search for one for a 307 I believe they're all pretty much the same.
Try ebay.
I did one on a 406 and it was fairly easy to replace and if you do the right thing and get Quick fit to purge it, replace the condenser then return to them to hold a vacuum on it, test for leaks and refill it should be easy.
You can refill from a can but it's not quite as good.
Look to be around £50 to £80 and a refill for around 50.
