I scuff my door and left wheel arch taking the paint off and there is also two dents in wheel arch, after hitting a metal poll in the car park, so I took it to Nationwide repairs and they told me it would take 10 days to repair my car because I would need a respray. on the door and wheel arch also to take out the dents.

The car is still drivable just looks bad on one side

Do it really take 10 days or are they just pulling a fast one to earn more money?

What's you opinion?

On behalf of Nationwide Crash Repair Centres I would like to assure you that we have given you an honest and realistic estimate of the time it will take to repair your vehicle. Clearly if there is other damage which is not currently apparent then the repairs may take longer. Equally, we may be able to complete the repairs a little earlier than initially envisaged. Either way, the time frame we have given you will be about right based on the information we have at the time of estimating. We are keen to provide our customers with a high level of service and this also means completing repairs as quickly as possible for the customer, without compromising on the quality of the repairs. I am therefore very confident that if you have been told your repairs will take 10 days then unfortunately this will be the case, in order for us to repair your vehicle to our usual high standard. I hope this information helps put your mind a rest but please contact your nearest centre if you do have any queries and they will be happy to assist you. Thank you.

I Have a friend who is a specialist in this field and I've personally seen him, strip, repair and re-paint large sections of a car on a Saturday (Less than 1 day).

He regularly re-paints Aston Martins, Porsche's, Mercedes, etc. so his workmanship is undoubtedly high.

I believe 10 days is quite excessive.

Just my opinion though..

I had a massive dent in the rear quarter of a company lease car repaired by a local bodyshop before I handed it back to the lease company. The repair cost less than the penalty the lease company would have charged. Dropped the car in on Friday morning and picked it up the following morning. They did such a perfect repair I had to check the registration number to be sure it was my car. They said it would be the following morning because they would have to put the car in the oven to do a proper job. So unless your car has severe hidden damage then ten days does seem a little excessive but I'm no bodywork expert.

My viewpoint on this is it matters not how long the repair takes As long as it is of good quality But I would expect a courtesy Car If I needed to use a car for work or Social use I know it took the company my Insurer sent me to 7 days to paint one of my cars but it had Key scratches On just about every Panel

If the insurer picks the repair centre and you are happy to go along with it then there may well be a delay due to the volume of work the repair centre has but If I was choosing for myself I would be looking for a reasonably quick turnaround, courtesy car or not. Courtesy cars rend to be below the standard of the car being repaired and everyone I've had has had a petrol engine so ended up more expensive to run.

A week isn't too bad but by your initial statement, you wouldn't have minded if it took them 6 months to get the car back to you as long as it was a quality repair :) (Tongue in cheek statement).

If I let my insurance pay for this damage, they only want me to send it to Nationwide repairs, I have no choice in the matter? where I want it to be repaired that's very unfair to me! I learn that Nationwide repair online ratings is only 3.2 there are many car repair centers with an much higher online rating but my insurance company don't list them?

I think it's because the nationwide repairs are cheaper & the body shop team must be trainees.

And I wouldn't want a Courtesy car "Corsa" horrible cars, and yes a four - five days is not bad but not ten days

Point One most Insurers operate on a preferred repair centre principal

Point two Yes your Insurer will have a deal with the repairer to make the repairs cheaper But they will have Staff trained to a minimum standard to carry out the work So saying they are all untrained is a bit harsh

the Courtesy car will usually be something you would not buy given a choice

And do remember that only people who are unhappy leave reviews So 3.2 out of what 5 ? After the repair you can check the car and if not happy get the work redone

Nationwide Repairs

I represent Nationwide Crash Repairs and would like to clarify a few points if that's ok!

We are the preferred repairer for a number of Insurance Companies because we provide high quality repairs, not because we are cheap or use trainees. Like many large companies we do run an apprenticeship scheme but all of our apprentices are overseen by qualified technicians. The information regarding the use of preferred repairers is usually detailed in the insurance policy and there is normally an option to use a repairer of your choice but this can incur an additional excess. Each insurance company has different policies and so you will need to check your documents or speak to your insurance company to find out your personal situation.

I would be interested to know where you have found our online rating to be only 3.2. We encourage our customers to post their reviews, both good and bad, on the reviewcentre.com. Our current rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 1181 reviews which puts us as the highest rating repairer nationwide. As with any company, you will see we have received some complaints on this site. However, we investigate and address every complaint we receive and do all we can to ensure the customer’s complaint is resolved to their satisfaction.

Your courtesy car will be dependent on the type of car specified in your policy but it will be clean and will be relatively new, as we only keep them for a short amount of time.

As regards the 10 day estimate you received from us, I can assure you the repairs will be carried out to the highest standard and as quickly as possible. It is not in our interest to keep vehicles on site any longer than necessary as we are very busy! When making an estimate we have to consider whether or not a courtesy car is required and the fact that we will have a number of other vehicles that we are also repairing at the same time. Smaller body-shops may not have these factors to consider and so may be able to complete your repairs a little quicker. Every repair is different and the damage to your vehicle may sound similar to other peoples but there may be more to your repairs than you or other people are aware of. Therefore only the body-shops who have seen your car can really provide you with an idea of time-scales.

At the end of the day, you should feel comfortable with the company who is repairing your vehicle and safe in the knowledge that they are doing a professional and quality repair job. Nationwide Crash Repairs will do a professional and quality repair for you but for the reasons mentioned above, it may take a few days longer than an alternative body-shop. I hope this has made things a little clearer for you and wish you luck in making your decision! Thank you.

Wow that a statement you are making in many words: 'highest standard' & 'professional and quality repair job' and last 'Nationwide Crash Repairs will do a professional and quality repair for you So why is there so many bad reviews warning other not to use your repair center!!!

So far you have only based all you reviews on one website, but not your own to be fair in this matter I will put a link here Nationwide Crash Repair Centre Reviews | Car Service & Repairs | Review Centre so the Peugeot members here can judge for them self after reading all the good and bad reviews.

And then there is
