Well the first one appeared due to emotional blackmail, a 2 litre 306 HDI. The second and third are where i need some know how. I have enclosed pics; is this gauge in the revcounter dial an oil level gauge? and is this stalk for use in conjunction for the Peugeot radio? it doesn't work at present but then the car came with an aftermarket Sony. All answer's on a postcard to....

Those links are very interesting, thats the loom chopper mentioned then. Now as the oil gauge goes to zero seconds after starting im wondering if thats normal. :(

We bought a dark grey gunmetal colour but not got round to finding the paint code yet. Might be useful to get all the details off the relevant thread.

The gauge measures the oil level when you first turn ignition on it is not very accurate and is a guide only lots of French cars have them must be because French people are to lazy to remove the dipstick :)

The behaviour of the gauge in your description is normal

Thanks for your replies, now It's clear. The gauge measures oil level on start up then goes on to measure oil temperature afterwards. A cunning French device.
