So a week in to owning my first Pug and I'm liking it!
However, I've had a few queries and hope you might be able to help me out with the most recent.
I was happily driving up the M18 en route to Grimsby (yes, I know! It's not really that bad actually ?) when a flapping noise developed as I was touching 70mph
A complete lack of services on this stretch had me panicking but with 12 miles to go, I slowed it down and arrived safely at our destination.
On my hands and knees in the Premier Inn car park (not a first, I'm sure ?)
I discover the flappy, cover thing under the engine has broken away on the offside and is being held on by just one plastic 'screw' type thing at the front but also by the bit which goes over the wheel.
Relieved it's a non-mechanical, I enjoy my stay in Grimsby (yes, I honestly do) and travel home.
So, my questions are
A) what is the flappy, cover thing called?
B) is it expensive/difficult to get fixed
C) should it have been picked up on an MOT just over a week ago
D) should I return to the garage I bought it from and ask if it can be fixed by them under the 3 month warranty

Thanks in adavance for any help!

Sounds like something that happened to me on my 307. The engine undertray had lost some of it's fasteners and in places the hole in the tray had enlarged causing it to drop. It can also affect the wheel arch liner. I was on my way from the Manchester area to Cromer in Norfolk on the M1 when it happened. When I arrived I managed to fasten it up with cable ties until I could get some better fasteners from ebay.

You could always remove the undertray completely though I would highly recommend keeping the wheel arch liner and if necessary getting new fasteners for it if they are required.

Same thing happened with my 407, undertray came loose and snapped. Got a new one off eBay, and replaced all of the missing clips. Eventually got sick on buying new clips. Mine is held on with cable ties now. Had to drill a couple of extra holes to be able to loop the cable ties trough to get a fixing.
Malcolm.
