Well, as some of you know my CAT and FAP is missing, has have been for some time now, today was the first MOT without the above items.

A metered smoke test was performed as per VOSA guidelines and the result was....

0.55 m/-1 which was less than the 1.5 fast pass requirement and thus an instant pass after the first acceleration.

The upper limit for Turbo Diesel engines is 3.0.

Interestingly enough they had the result for my previous smoke test with the FAP/CAT fitted, it was a 0.71.

Oh, and the overall result was a pass, nothing wrong with her at all.

It's nice to know for all these potential FAP/CAT removals going on that at least as far as the UK goes, doesn't affect the MOT.

In fact the history of my MOT's shows a reduction in emissions by a fair margin since I did the whole FAP/CAT removal and ECU mapping work.
