Ok.

Now when I just thought everything finally was working fine, it has started to behave much worse on cold starts.

This morning I had to try about 15 times before it started. I get no depollution messages at all, but I will read the codes tomorrow to see if there are some hidden ones in there that don't show up as depollution faults.

Also I was going to put in some oil today, as last I checked the level was on the lower limit of the dipstick (about 2 weeks ago I checked this).

Well, then I got suprised... as now it had risen to maximum level on the dipstick... so must be diesel getting in there again.

The car is doing regens about every 500km's, is this normal distance between regens?

I also have this strange problem going on during regens that I wrote a post on earlier, but didn't really get any clearifying responses to it. During regens I can only apply slight throttle about max 10%, or I can apply 70% or more, but anything in between all engine power disappears, just like there is no throttle at all.

I'm getting a bit stuck here now, as I thought I had finally understood how this engine / management system works, but doesn't seem like it....

Working on it... but it won't be finished in a while yet! Won't be LPG though, E85 and 500bhp is more likely. Last time I looked at it (earlier tonight) it looked like this:



So I rather take some advice on how to fix the 407 .... :)

Oh lord.

Hooked up the PP2000 again tonight, and can you believe it, it has killed one more glow plug now.

I fitted 4 new Beru ones summer 2012, one failed already in september 2012, and now it seem like one more has gone.

I hope this also is the reason for sump filling up, will change it hopefully tomorrow...

Are these glow plugs prone to fail often? I would have thought that 4 new ones ideally should last at least a couple of years or around 40-50000km?

You could change glow plugs in Hdi engines as often as spark plugs..... :rolleyes:

That said, is it likely that this is the reason for my sump level rising again?
Usually happens when the car can't regenerate. The oil gets saturated. If it rising then its best to change the oil as its getting saturated with diesel.

It is still doing regens, and the back pressure for PEF was only 21mbar at 3000rpm, so the filter is free flowing.

I'll just have to change the plug and hope that it will normalize :)

Ohmed all plugs and all fine, 1.4 Ohm on all four.

Then started to investigate, and found that the connector between positive terminal and glow relay was rather dodgy. The connector itself didn't have good contact. So tightened it up a bit with some pliers and plugged it in again. At least fault code gone now, so now I just hope the car will act normally during regens again too! Just have to wait about 300km till next time I guess :)

Change the oil, its full of diesel.

Yeah will do.

Although my engine is used to a lot of diesel in the oil from earlier :), so will do it later, in the weekend probably :)

It surely aint.

But can't be arsed just now. It aint that thin yet anyways, the diesel will clean out the oil channels a bit if I leave it for some days :)
