I've just changed my car from a 306 Estate 2litre HDI 90 to a 308sw 1.6 HDI 110 fap. The car has done 14000mls. I'm finding a distinct lack of acceleration from 1000 to 1600rpm when I presume the turbo kicks in. Is this normal? The 306 HDI 90 had bags of low down grunt.

The 110 is a bit feeble until it comes on boost, whereupon it should be revvy and willing. Your 308 is nearly 25% smaller than your 307, and has a 16 valve head, both of which give totally different gas flow characteristics. It's like comparing a wardrobe to a dustbin.

Lack of power on acceleration 1.6 HDI 110fap

Thanks CHOPPER1192,
I guess I'll have to start allowing for the delay before the turbo kicks in.

It lacks low down comapred to the olde DW10, but gives a wider spread once it's spinning. Once you're dialled into it you'll love it.

I have the 308 1,6 HDI 110 with EGC and I experience the same thing. Not much happens until somewhere between 2000 and 2500rpm. Then it really goes. So far I like the car alot and it seems to give the MPG stated. :)
