Knocking from rear passenger side Peugeot 307

Hi Davey again !!!

This brand new car is causing me so much trouble.

I have got a knocking sound from the rear - passenger side. I had my first rear passenger yesterday and it stopped. What do you think it is?

I am going to contact Peugeot as there have been so many problems with this car so far including it steers to the right when I have the steering wheel straight on. I took it in for this and they said they had done it but it was just the same.

I am losing patience with them now.

However, back to the question - would anyone know what it could be so I can go in armed with the right words to say?

Thanks.

the 307 is fast becoming a nightmare. There are a few posts on this forum concerning the suspension, some people have had just about every part replaced to no avail. I would take it back to the dealer and ask to speak to the head technician/service manager and point out your concerns forcibly but politely (just now).

The steering sounds as though it is either out of alignment or the steering wheel has been fitted out of alignment.

The suspension could be suspension bushes, upper suspension strut, anti roll bar, axle bushes. The upper suspension strut/link can have a bearing on wheel alignment as well, maybe kill 2 birds with the one stone hopefully.
Dave the knock at the back seat is the seat locking clip, they are not secured when the car arives, pulling the clip will reposition it,thus forcing it shut, will solve your rattle problem.

The steer to the right is easy just get a five wheel alignment done and the issue will go away, dealers can not align cars properly ,go to a reputable tyre specialist.

I used to have that issue with my last car until I found a fantastic tyre specialist and have never had any alignment issues since.
not having had a look at this new car yet, i would suggest that all the bushes are inspected to make sure they have been pressed home correctly. track rod ends/ball joints can fail new or old without any explanation.
if your steeering wheel is not cantral, its because the last guy who lined your wheels up couldn't be arsed to do the job properly, yes he may have got the machine zero'd /toe in/out respectively but it takes considerably longer to line all this up with the steering wheel too.
(unless you have a land rover where you can adjust the drag link)
