I have a Peugeot 207 1.6 Hdi (56) can anyone tell me where I could find the central receiver, as the problem is that I can lock inside if I hold the key fob near ignition but cannot lock outside the car,
Hi, I think the reciever is part of the indicator stalk. However this seems a common issue and is usually the internals of the key itself which have failed. I took mine to peugeot, auto electricians etc. and all said it was the receiver end.
Was recommended someone on ebay called 'thecarkeyking' who repaired my fob for £16.99 and it worked again! Would definitely recommend. Also there is a locksmith on here called Trustme who may be able to help.
If the buttons work when close to the stalk unit, the problem is probably low power from the key transmitter. The first thing to do is replace the battery in the fob. If that does not help, it is likely to be poor contact on the switches actuated by the buttons. They are individually replaceable with a small soldering iron and a steady hand.
