Well, just bought the replacement for the 407 as had it for 8 years 90,000 miles and it's a bit battle scarred.

DMF might be on its way out as the clutch pedal is crunchy, there is a clunk from the front suspension, and the abs light is on.

New car arrives on Thursday, but the 407 is not going in exchange, so the question is, what to do with it.

Do I try to sell, scrap, or strip key parts and scrap.

Would prefer to sell as it's been a great family motor, but with those faults can't see its worth much (won't have an mot).

It's a 136 HDi and had a new turbo about 20k ago.

Wondering what key parts are and worth how much ?

Maybe BSI & ECU's, power steering pump, abs unit (prob ok), cd multi changer, com 2000 unit, turbo and airbags. Anything else worth removing ?

You shouldn't have any problems getting rid of parts - and don't forget the lights - best part of a couple hundred quid by the time you do headlamps, fogs, rears etc... Front grilles and badges also seem to do well on fleabay which is also probably the best place for you to check on prices etc.

Ok, the personal plate has been swapped so it's time to get rid.

Tax until February 2015
No mot
Occasionally has restricted boost
Body can see any rust but got a few dings and a scrape on the rear wing
Alloys have no big chunks out of them but need a refurb
Interior is ok but I got some oil on the rear seat, mfd fades when hot
Abs fault, front left sensor fault
A clunk from the front suspension over bumps
Something wrong with the clutch but been the same for two years now
New turbo 20k ago
Would need to be picked up from Lancaster (not insured)
No warranty implied or given and no guarantee of roadworthyness.

Offers ( got to be worth 150 for the tax and spares ?)
