after many many trial and error and nothing on a dignostic machine. I think ive found what the problem was, i have seen many many people spend alot of money and still didnt find the cure for what was going on.

1st clean the throttle body.
2nd clean the idle air control valve.
3rd adjust accelerator cable to throttle body.

1,2 seem to work ok but the revs were still dropping below idle then popping back up when i came to a stop.

3 seem to have put the icing on the cake.

took the car out and the revs didnt drop below 1000.

TOUCH WOOD ive sorted it.

will report back in a week let you know how it goes.

At tickover, revs should be considerably less then 1000... all cars I've ever driven they are 750 +/- 50 .... at 1000 it would send like constant over revving to me.

It's between 900 and 1000 but before I did any off this the revs just drop to zero and the car would cut out. Many many 307 drivers have h!d this issue. No one that iv herd of has fixed it even after many garages have rip them of. So for now its just seeing how I go.... went T9 Tesco this eve and revs never droped.
