Hi,

2013 1.6HDi has P1434 Multiplexed Fuel Additive Pump Fault.

Local garages won't touch it and all telling me dealer only issue. Can't get booked in for nearly 4 weeks.

Is it safe to drive it ??

I am surprised your local garage wouldn't deal with your problem. Several people on the forum have repaired this sort of thing themselves. It may be worth trying another garage.

Did the problem appear just after you filled up? It could be as simple as refilling the EOLYS fluid. Depending on your exact engine it may require a new pump or additive tank. some systems have a bag and a seperate pump others have a tank with integrated pump.

The purpose of the EOLYS fluid is to lower the temperature needed to burn off the soot in the particle filter. Not all car manufacturers use this system. When you fill the car the additive pump injects a measured amount of EOLYS into the fuel. The danger is that if you use the car too much with no EOLYS in the fuel the regeneration process may not be able to remove all the soot and the DPF will block. My guess is you are probably okay for four weeks if you don't do too much driving.
Sounds like pump failure or the wiring to the pump has corroded ( both common) the pump clips to the tank or bag holder. And isxquite easy to swap secondhand pumps can be used but if from another model etc need to be coded with additive quantity using diagbox

Cheers guys.

I would have a go changing it as mechanically I can see it's pretty straightforward, but from the various threads I've read I don't have the diagnostic kit needed and even with it most people seem to have issues clearing codes.

3 local garages all told me it was a dealer only part and process and they wouldn't touch it so booked into Peugeot next week.

Really just wanted to know if it was OK to keep driving it ?
Okay let us know how you get on. Don't be surprised if the dealer has to order a part.

There does appear to be a problem with clearing DPF and NOx system faults. In a lot of cases it because people are trying to clear the fault without fixing the problem properly. It usually requires going into the new part menu of Diagbox. In case you are not aware there is a number of volunteers in the UK with the Peugeot diagnostic tool see Peugeot Diagnostics Map - May 23 - Google My Maps
They are readily available from other sources and often cheaper
