I very much doubt you will notice any difference in normal driving.
Disc pros; Easy to check and replace pads, handbrake never needs adjusting, less adversely affected by soaking (after fording a flooded road for example), less prone to fade but unless you are towing in hilly country or at a track you won't notice.
Cons; Wear out faster than shoes, calliper problems can be expensive.
Drum pros; Cheap, long lasting.
Cons; can't be checked at a glance, mostly the self adjusters don't work well, more affected by water and heavy use.
