just curious to know what version of ipod people are using if any for your music in the car as it says in the handbook that some generation of apple players are not compatible I was thinking of purchasing an ipod classic just for the car.
I'm using iPhone7. Have iPod Video (gen 5) at home, with shot battery, that I wanted to use in car, but then I thought - why? I have instead bought a small Sandisk 64GB stick which is practically invisible in USB port of the car and has 64GB capacity VS 40GB of my iPod Video. Plus no need to charge battery. No cables to hang around. Take it out, plug it to PC/Mac, add new / delete old songs, that's it.
As for the "playlist" I simply rename files, adding "01", "02" etc on the beginning of filename, and they are played in order. It's a bit of work to adjust, but only the 1st time around. Later you add one album at a time, at least I do, and I can't say I add more than that per month. If even that much. So it's a breeze.
