Instructions on how to use cruise control on my 207cc

Hello,
I have 207cc year 2007 and I have never been able to work out how to operate the cruise control.there is nothing in my handbook and the car def has cruise.....apparently I've been told that you basically need a unit degree to operate it lol ....

when you reach the desired speed in 5th gear rotate switch to on if not already on press button on end of stalk

to increase speed by approx 2 mph or lessen by the same press top or bottom button on stalk

If you brake it turns off if you press the clutch it turns off just repress button on top of stalk

My handbook says to press the + or - buttons to set the speed. The button on the end only cancels or resumes a previously set speed. I've never been able to set the initial speed by pressing the resume / cancel button on the end.
