Hi
Have a 2016 (older shape) 3008 and HUD has stopped coming up.
Has anyone changed these before?
Gave Peugeot dealer a ring and they want £900 plus £110 to fit and programme.
Have seen loads for sale on Ebay for around £50 so wondering do these need programming to the car or are they plus and play.
Peugeot dealer were helpful they gave me 2 part numbers that they no longer make but were the ones for the car
6593K2
6593K3
Guy I spoke to thought the only difference between the two was the colour and they are essentially the same part.
When I look on Ebay there are loads there but they all have Software versions and hardware versions. Do I need to match up to what is on my current one exactly?
Just wondered if anyone else has ever replaced one? It must be possible as they are for sale used.
Thanks

Hardware is the actual part, so that needs to be the same number, unless you can compare side by side.
Software as you probably know is the internals, so you may lose some functionality.
I have Never changed that part on a Peugeot, but usually the software on a later model will be compatible with an earlier car, but not the other way around.
On either of the numbers the first few are the part number, the last 2 or 3 are the version, so you can have a few variations.
So - ABC *** AB is an earlier version of ABC***AC
But - ABD***AB is likely to be a higher version of the same. Hope that makes sense.
So, on the part you are looking at, the label with the SW & HW numbers is likely to be manufactures codes. The other label is most likely the Peugeot part numbers.
To be honest for the price, ask for pictures of the connection to confirm they are the same and give it a go. Sell on if it not compatible.
Make sure ignition is off, I disconnect battery, when you swap them out and you may get away with it.

Thanks for the really detailed and helpful reply.
I am going to get an Auto Electrician to have a look at it to see what they think.
Starting point would be to take my one off and get the numbers from that. Only issue I might have is the 66 reg was one of the last to be produced on that shape so I might struggle with getting software that is as up to date as mine.
It's weird I can't find anywhere that says if you can re-programme used ones or not. I've searched high and low. Even the guy at Peugeot I spoke to said they programme new ones but he couldnt say if the used ones needed it or not.
I'll post back with how I get on if Auto Electrician says there is anything that can be done so others can see the outcome.
Dont want to spend hundreds on it but my wife mainly uses the car and she does like it as a feature.
Thanks again.

It is possible that the part was updated in readiness for the next model, that way any issues can be ironed out before the new car launch.
The guy at Peugeot is right, quite often the software is already installed but the equipment at the dealer may have a 'SWDL' button for a certain part, so it easy enough just to hit it.
Let us know what the auto Elec says, you may be surprised.

Well I was surprised with the auto electrician. It wasn't working and he took it all out and had a look at it then plugged it back in to run the wiring tests and it sprang to life! Somehow the connection must have come slightly loose and him unplugging and then plugging it back in has sorted it! Glad I didn't get the part from Peugeot for £900 :ROFLMAO:
Thanks for all the replies shedload, very much appreciated.
