Nice guide m8 im going to be doing this this weekend, do i just set the counters to zero and its done? cos from what it looks like i should be setting how much is in there.
Wouldn't setting it to zero make the ecu think its empty?

Quick question I notice when you connect the pipe in the pics there is air in it before you turn it upside down.

is this a problem

Also how does the fluid go in if the tank is sealed do you need to undo some kind of bleed nipple anywhere?

Theres a pipe into the tank you take off and then attach the pipe that comes with liquid then let gravity feed it in , don`t worry about air , just where gloves and googles.

i am looking to do this job myself also but was at a garage earlier today and they said that the filling is the easy part and the pp is the hardest part, not just as simple as reseting a counter is this true? he mentioned sommit about having to put fuel in also?

 

You don`t have to put fuel in just remove filler cap for 2 mins , he`s not that smart of a garage man.

Done the one in those pictures , i have mine removed , can`t mind but theres usually two counters to reset , there are quite easy to find once your in with pp.:thumb:

i think if your keeping the system best to use what is recommended , the 407 can be a little temperamental :lol:

Thumbs up to Bettyswollocks for the photo instructions of how to refill the additive in our Peugeot 407.

The hardest part was getting the particulate stuff from Peugeot parts! I ordered over the phone and the guy said Eolys 176 and I thought yipee - except the container label says Infineum F7995. I queried & was told by parts manager that it was the wrong stuff & he re-ordered it for me. 1 week later got the new stuff which said something else altogether. Queried that and was told the original Infineum was correct as it had superceded 176. (Very apologetic and sheepish looking parts manager). So, that's what my better half put in the car - eventually.

Fingers crossed that the Infineum F7995 is the right particulate additive for my 55 407 S Hdi. She's running ok so far

 

Yeah F7995 is the right additive 176 is no more.
The F7995 should be a little cheaper too.

Depends how much is used , i think 2 1/2 litres was what we tried and done the job , can`t say how long it will last because that particular car was written off in a bad smash about 6 months later

 

Think mine is empty. sorry to hear it was written off. hope no one was hurt

 

Ad Blue is a totaly different product it is basicaly UREA in solution it acts to convert NOx to harmless by product. Eloys reduces the ignition temperature of the soot formed by engine trapped in FAB lets it burn off at ~450 Deg C instead of ~550-600Deg C of normal soot. AS far as i know it Selenium based (a carcneogenican but then soot is visible the cancer causing item is not so that is ok. )

 

Tip for everybody
RE ELOYS Always fill the car to the brim as system injects same amount of ELOYS for 10Litre as for full fill.
After filling and reseting counters, adding fuel , You need to do a forced regen on Planet or easiset way is to to find motorway and keep it over 70 for 10 min in forth gear and car will do the rest. Ignore the smoke
