The CV gaiter has split on my 806 (outer joint, wheel end).
Anyone know if you can separate the CV joint from the drive shaft? or is it done at the other end (I think it's called a triplex joint). Do you just hammer them off like my old 305 or is there some other trick?

it turns out that there are two types of drive shaft on an 806. On mine the CV joint just came off of the drive shaft with some sharp taps, just like the old Pugs I'm used to. There is another type which is not removable though, so you have to take to triplex joint off at the other end and remove both gaiters.
