If you get the message about particle filter blocking, drop a couple of gears and drive at normal speeds for a couple of miles (ie. keep the revs up). That clears the "Service" light on mine.

20 years ago I thought diesel technology had given us what the average motorist needed for the future;How wrong I was. Give me back my Ford 2.0ltr Pinto which ran on marmalade for lubrication on cold mornings (20/50), did 115mph if needed and could be fixed by anyone who could hold a wrench the right end up with parts available from just about anywhere. Ah..nostalgia. Its right what they say.. in the end we all become our parents.

Diesel engines do produce far less CO2 than petrol engines. 20 years ago this was seen as a good thing.

I'll post if I encounter any more problems (or maybe in several months if I don't haha)

The DPF can always be cleaned out by specialists, they need to remove it, but the cost is far less than a replacement.
