Because I always choose very careful my new cars I always give these a name.
The name of my first 306 was "Blue Lion" and the last 308's name was "Blanch" (it was white pearl).I also have a white Partner...it's name is "Donkey"....because when we go shopping my wife never complains about the "small space inside"....she could never fill the car to the roof...yet !
The new 3008 (which has not arrived yet) is to be named "Big Black Blanch" because it is white pearl with black diamond roof.:D

At first mine was called ‘the new car’, now it’s just ‘the car’. :) I’ve never given my cars names!

Well , you know what they say : it's never too late.....to name your car! That way you show your car that you care and "she" will care for you too !
Actually it was my wife who inspired the names : after a long journey she always wanted to say thanks to the car too (for getting us safely back home), not only to the driver(that being me-she has a drivers license since 1994 and drove less than 20 miles!). Sometimes I a get jealous on the car, but hey...I love her too !!:thumb:

Like Dautres, I have never named any of my cars other than calling it the car. The nearest I have ever come was with my last Audi and it was just the TT.

Likewise...We call the current 308 "Our Lion" in Mandarin... No surprise...the upcoming 3008 is "The New Lion" and hopefully after nearly 10 weeks of waiting, The New Lion will be delivered soon and re-named as "Our Lion"...

We do this exact same thing!
...We've christened our current car 'the Focus' and no doubt the Peugeot, when it arrives, will answer to the name of 'the Peugeot'.
We've also got a Fiat motorhome that's called 'the van' :)

Never really had enough emotional attachment to an inanimate object to give it a name. ;)

How about the "motor" as in Alexi Sayle's song "Ello John, got a new motor?" I bet nobody has ever thought of that name before. :D Joking of course!

“Handsome”......... Does that mean at every shop window you drive past it stops to admire itself?

Which is lucky because it could have also stood for:-
1. A Boyfriend or male admirer.
2. A rich, fashionable young man; a Dandy.
3. A Sweetheart.

And my favourite:-
A frequent and attentive male escort for a girl or woman. :D

To be honest Beards, I was wondering if Beau actually named his car after himself.. and not the other way round.
You know how some people are:lol:

Too late for me now I fear. Previously, 25 years of company cars so no attachment there. Even longer than that, this is the first car I have bothered to memorise the registration number. My wife is obviously less imaginative than yours, her cars have been called the Mini, the Golf and now the Audi.

Pug Beast - and that is it. She is a Peugeot 207 and we have owned VW's (Air cooled) and I have always wanted a Pug 205, I drove one way back - but went for the modern fit so Pug_Beast. ;-)
Aaah and I'm sorry I didn't see the title '3008' my bad, didn't mean to crash this thread....

Cars are often considered to be female gender and referred to as she. In the same vein, the French for car is la voiture (a feminine noun) thus it should be described as Belle or in English as beautiful. Sorry to contradict Belle, I mean Beau! :)
