I have replaced the Power Steering pump and when I've gone 2 refit the ancillery belt I've found that there's a load of slack in it, so much so that it's just hanging of rollers n pulleys. My car is a 206 1.4 hdi on a 2004 plate. I think the problem revolves around the belt tensioner but can't figure out how 2 retension the belt.

Any help would b much appreciated.

There is more than one type of tensioner but there is also more than 1 size of power steering pulley could be thats your issue

Hi reliable, the pump n pulley r itentical. When the belt was removed it was under the correct tension, but now there's zero tension available. I'm at a loss 2 figure out the problem!!!

Well somethings changed..If the pulley is the same (ref reliables post)and the belt route is the same...youre missing something....belt route is the one for me?

Got to be belt routing unless you have somehow jammed the auto tensioning part of the tension device [left the lock pin in?]
