after having my 207 written off I have purchased a 56 plate, 307 Sport, it seems the clutch pedal is high as in higher than the brake pedal which makes a very long throw, is this normal or a fault somewhere , cheers Tezz

Sounds like clutch unit is near the end of its life although having said that my 206cc has a very high pedal like yours and has done for the last 3 years.
Make sure you don't ride the pedal :D

searching this found that this is commen on quite a few cars and may actually be normal.

some suggest it should be higher than the brake.

also some cars have the brake higher than the throttle for heal toe driving

Sounds like your clutch may be worn, does it slip when under load?
To test it you can try putting the car into 4th gear, hand brake all the way up rev it high and drop the clutch, if it it carries on revving your clutch is on its way out.
If it stalls I wouldn't worry about it

It's defiantly the clutch wearing

The clutch gets heavy because the pressure plate springs become harder to compress with age, as soon as you stick a new clutch in it, it will be like pressing fresh air :thumb:
