Hi All,
Just took delivery of a 1.4hdi 206 this lunchtime, it came with a Warranty.
Came to start it at the dealer's to take it home and it wouldn't start, no fuel but lots of air in clear fuel line.
Lots of priming and 3 hrs later, dealer got it going and I was on my way home.
Car drove really well on the way home, much more pleasant than my previous car (Picasso 1.6 Petrol)
Started saying to wife how good it was, had an issue at garage but sorted now, blah blah blah.
Came to start it to send her out in and......
Wouldn't start.....
Once again just air in clear fuel line.
Rang garage, told them I was on way back with it.
So for the time being, we've got our Picasso back while the garage set to diagnosing and hopefully solving the issue.
Fingers crossed that they sort it, I think I could become quite fond of the little sprightly 206.
And if the Wife becomes fond too then, less earache and a bonus all round. Lol

But anyhow, Hi guys

The new car is now home, so far behaving itself.
Turns out to have been too much leak off being produced from injector 2.
Injector 2 has been replaced by company that sold me the car.
All is good again with the world. :) ........well for now at least. :rolleyes:

Welcome aboard. My brother in Sheffield does diagnostics if you ever need any further assisance. Our other brother also had a 206 so we know our way around them.

hi

hi i also am a new owner of a 206 1.4 hdi , we have had it about a week my wifey loves it , but we have now got a problem with ours , it had a leaky copper seal been replaced and now wont start , :confused: we cant wait to find out what the problem is to enjoy it again

Thanks Gibbo, it's nice to know help is near, if needed :)

adywmark2, the company I bought mine from, did pressure leak tests on all the fuel lines under the air filter housing previous to discovering the injector fault, they also found air leaks to one of the hoses connected to the cluster of lines that attach to the hand priming pump. I'm told, they had to be replaced as a whole cluster.

I'm so glad it's happened before I left the showroom, I'm guessing the warranty wouldn't have covered it as I'm sure it'd all be put down to 'wear & tear', the warranty get out clause.

Had a Diesel smell inside the car with the heater on, but found liquid between the injectors, (I guess it'll be leftover Diesel from the dealer testing for leaks that wasn't cleaned off) so I'm hoping that after flooding that area with a hose pipe, the smell will start to disappear now

Here's to hoping for future trouble free motoring........
Although with motors, you just never know! lol
