Hi moose, and thanks for the welcome, I've owned a 106 2x 206's and a 406 in the past all with no major problems apart from wear and tear, if the 307 is the same i'l be more than impressed:thumb:

Well i finally picked up my 307 yesterday, all seemed well on the surface, drives well, looks good condition for age and mileage (51 plate with 40k on clock), was not til i got home that i noticed that the cd changer does not work, and it has just started to make a metallic sounding rattle from the engine bay area, its already booked back into the garage for tomorrow, just hope this is not the start of things to come:( ...

the rattle might just be a loose heat shield, the cd changer possibly a fuse,or broken connection. Not much help i know especially as the car should be spot on. Ask the garage if it has had all the recall work done, you can contact peugeot uk yourself if they dont know.

cheers moose:thumb: , the garage (not peugeot dealer) have said they would look to replace the changer unit, and will contact me once they have sourced one, i'l give them a week and get back on there case, a quick check on ebay and you can get a exchange unit for £85 so should not be to hard for them, i thought the rattle may have been the heat shield, does sound like that type of rattle, is this a simple fix, or do you think its a garage job. I'l give peugeot uk a call on Monday and see about the recall work, thanks for the heads up;)

The heat shield is a quick fix, sometimes they get bent out of shape a little and that can cause a rattle. Keep us up to date with your progress.
